Poker sites have a way of staying relevant, especially when they are about to go bust.
That’s what happened to Betfair, the US-based site that has been the subject of numerous investigations and a massive data breach.
Betfair said that it was the first of its kind in the world and it’s now in the process of shutting down its entire website and shutting down the entire operation, which included more than 5 million users.
It’s all part of a massive campaign of data breaches and data losses that have left Betfair with $20m in losses and is expected to cause the company to liquidate the entire business.
The company has also been under intense scrutiny, with the Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Justice, as well as a host of other legal entities, investigating the company for possible criminal violations.

And it’s been facing similar investigations since it launched its online poker service in 2009.

In October 2010, Betfred was the number one online poker site, but in January of this year, it was taken down by US authorities after they discovered the site’s servers were being used to store personal information.
Then in November, the company faced the largest data breach in US history.
Betsbet.com was taken offline in December, leaving Betfair in the middle of a lawsuit that it’s still fighting.
